Recently I had the joy of using the Merkur 23C long-handle double-edge safety razor, and I can tell you that it's a great razor. The long handle allows me to try many different grips without having to worry about my hand hitting my face during the shave. 

The razor itself has a solid build, and the longer handle adds weight to the razor so it practically shaves for you. You don't need to apply any pressure to the skin while you're shaving, since gravity does most of the work - at least when going in that direction.
